The Evolution of Minimally Invasive Donor Hepatectomy: Robotic vs Laparoscopic and Open Right Lobe Procurement. A Multicenter Study on 1194 Donor Hepatectomies
Abstract:No donor deaths were observed. No major complications (grade >III Clavian-Dindo) were recorded. Five donors had temporary bile leaks; none of them required any further intervention rather than keeping the drain longer time. Overall morbidities in the robotic donors were 7.2 % with average hospital stay 4days. Conclusions: Our abstract shows that robotic donor hepatectomies is safe, feasible and reproducible in the hand of experienced surgeon.
