The Evaluation of Priority Rules in Operations Scheduling

Abstract: The main objective of the project was to investigate the influence of the selected priority rules of technological operations on chosen production goals. The paper presents the results of the project. The dynamic scheduling process of operations was simulated on the model of production system. The effect of each priority rule has been studied for different production goals in different stressful situations. The synthesis and the evaluation of results were performed by using mathematical and statistical methods… Show more

“…Reference [33] compared and evaluated 30 of the most famous single priority rules and 10 famous combined priority rules, and reached a conclusion that the combined priority rule is far better than the single priority rule. Reference [37] compared 10 famous priority rules, and evaluate the priority rules that affects the defined production goals. And they reached that the LOPR rule is the best between the rules that they mentioned, and the EDD rule is the best rule for minimizing the Total Flow Time (Makespan).…”

“…There are several methods how to evaluate priorities for generating feasible and sub-optimal scheduling. In [4], a multi-objective scoring method is presented. VRP can be seen as a modified Traveling Salesman problem.…”
