The emerging role of microdialysis in diabetic patients undergoing amputation for limb ischemia

Abstract: Lower limb ischemia in diabetic patients is a result of macro- and microcirculation dysfunction. Diabetic patients undergoing limb amputation carry high mortality and morbidity rates, and decision making concerning the level of amputation is critical.
