The electrostatic approximation in the problem of diffraction of a plane wave by a group of coaxial small scatterers

Abstract: The modified null field method (MNFM) is applied to solve an electrostatic problem for a group of coaxial bodies of revolution. A modification of the MNFM is proposed for strongly prolate or strongly oblate bodies. Dependences of scattering and absorption cross sections on various parameters of the problem are obtained. The method is tested for an electrostatic problem for a single strongly prolate or strongly oblate spheroid used as an example.
