A 4 P i -X 4 D i transition of CoO has been observed in the near-infrared region by high-resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy [7] and it was suggested that a 4 R À state should lie nearby because of the large X-doubling observed on some of the spin components of this 4 P i state.…”
