The electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of laminated fabrics using electronic printing

Abstract: This paper describes the development of laminated fabrics that contain a silver grid for electromagnetic shielding (EMS) applications. The silver grid was constructed with 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 mm wire diameters and spacings. To reduce material costs, a solvent‐based polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film, cotton woven fabric, and conductive silver paste were used to fabricate a cost‐effective EMS conductive laminated fabric successfully. Using a coaxial transmission line holder, the electromagnetic shielding effecti… Show more

“…The air permeability of the fiber membrane shows a decreasing trend with the increase of the surface density of the fiber web. The greater the surface density of the web, the more fiber is filled per unit volume [14]. The smaller the voids between the fibers, the lower the air permeability.…”

“…Measurements were made using a Loresta-GP MCP-T600 resistivity meter (Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Japan), followed by a JIS K 7194 [22]. In order to confirm the stability of the Ag/MWCNT composite paste and screen printing process, volume resistivity (ρ v ) was checked for 3 to 10 samples, and the results show a window within 5% [23].…”
