Consumers’ willingness to pay for green initiatives of the hotel industry

“…Alexandris et al (2002) found that hotels' service quality characteristics, such as appearance of facilities, reliability, and ability to deliver service, accounted for 85% of variance in purchase intention in the Greek hotel industry. Assuming each hotel segment represents different service characteristics (e.g., physical facility, reliability, and ability) and guests of higher grade hotels tend to be more concerned about self-esteem (Erickson and Eckert, 1977), hotel types may account for a significant and positive influence on willingness to pay a premium for green initiatives.…”
