Abstract:The fragmentation mechanisms leading to the formation of several pronounced fragment ions formed during EI mass spectrometry of the diterpene hydrocarbons polytrichastrene A and wanju-2,5-diene were investigated by isotopic labelling experiments. All twenty singly 13 C-labelled isotopomers of these diterpenes were enzymatically synthesised from the twenty isotopomers of ( 13 C)geranylgeranyl diphosphate using the polytrichastrene synthase from Chryseobacterium polytrichastri. Their mass spectrometric investiga… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
