“…However, many clinicians and families prefer to start treatment with non-pharmacological interventions to avoid the potential adverse effects of medication. Unfortunately, meta-analyses have demonstrated limited efficacy for most non-pharmacological treatments by reporting small to modest effect sizes for reducing core ADHD symptoms (Sonuga-Barke et al, 2013 ; Daley et al, 2014 ; Cortese et al, 2015 , 2016 ; Oliva et al, 2021 ; Yang et al, 2021 ; Groenman et al, 2022 ). Stronger effects were found on cognitive measures, with modest to large effect sizes for the impact of physical exercise on inhibition and cognitive flexibility (Lambez et al, 2020 ; Liang et al, 2021 ).…”

“…Meta-analyses point to a general enhancement of well-being (Waters et al, 2015;Zoogman et al, 2015;Klingbeil et al, 2017;Theurel et al, 2018;Wilson et al, 2021). It should also be noted that mindfulness is an inclusive practice shown to improve psycho-emotional well-being, behaviors and executive functions of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (Black et al, 2009;Bigelow et al, 2021;Oliva et al, 2021), as children with ADHD may experience excessive spontaneous mind wandering (Bozhilova et al, 2018) but also hyperfocus (which can be understood as flow) at school, during screen time and during hobbies (Hupfeld et al, 2019). Given the capacity of attentional states of consciousness to develop nearly all psychosocial skills and increase all kinds of scholastic knowledge, this new educational path must be seriously considered.…”

“…Meditasi berbasis mindfulness, meditasi berbasis mantra, latihan dua belas langkah, dzikir, terapi welas asih, merupakan program psikoterapi dengan unsur spiritualitas yang berada di bawah payung spiritual (Kadri, Husain, and Omar 2020). Meditasi spiritual memberikan dampak positif pada depresi, kecemasan (Bowen et al 2017), stres, gangguan stres pascatrauma (PTSD) (Lang et al 2012), kanker, skizofrenia, nyeri kronis (Lee et al 2012), gangguan hiperaktivitas defisit perhatian (ADHD) (Oliva et al 2021) dan kecanduan (Breslin, Zack, and McMain 2002).…”
