The purpose of this research is to identify studies that applied computing in the assistance of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). The text presents the results of a systematic mapping study that used eight different data sources known in the academic field regarding both data science and health science, including papers published between 2008 and 2018. The search resulted in 20819 papers and 51 were selected for analysis. The results characterize the use of computing in the promotion of education in NCDs. Diabetes was the chronic disease prioritized (60.78%). About 49.02% of the solutions used data from the individuals to assist in their health conditions. In addition, 58.82% produced outcome measures by means of experiments. Resumo. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar estudos que apliquem a computação na assistência em doenças crônicas não transmissíveis (DCNTs).O texto apresenta os resultados de um mapeamento sistemático realizado em oito bases de dados conhecidas no âmbito acadêmico nas áreas de ciência da computação e ciências da saúde incluindo publicações entre 2008 e 2018. A busca resultou em 20819 artigos e 51 foram selecionados para análise. Os resultados caracterizam o uso da computação na promoção da educação em DCNTs. Diabetes foi a doença crônica priorizada (60,78%). Cerca de 49,02% das soluções usaram dados dos indivíduos no auxílio as condições de saúde. Além disso, 58,82% produziram resultados mensuráveis por experimentos.

The patient's belief and knowledge about his or her illness is the most important factor of disease control; the aim of present study is to perform a systematic review-based meta-analysis of health belief and its dimension's mean score in diabetic patients. The present systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted in 2020. Data were gathered by searching the google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and Science Direct databases from 2010 to 2020. Key words were "health belief", "hBM", "diabetic patients", "diabetes mellitus". To estimate the pooled score of health belief and its dimensions, the randomeffects meta-analysis was performed using STATA 15. The presence of heterogeneity across the studies was assessed with the i2 statistic. A forest plot was used to report the results. The mean of health belief was (3.422, 95% Ci: 3.128--3.716) based on the fixed effect model and (3.422, 95% CI: 3.128-3.716) based on the random effect model, is the same. The strongest dimension is "perceived benefits" with an mean (3.8) and the weakest dimension is "perceived sensitivity" with an mean (3.0). Conclusions. Policymakers and decision makers in the field of hygiene and controlling non-communicable diseases should focus on the role of patients' awareness of their disease and try to improve it. in the meantime, the dimension of "perceived sensitivity" needs more attention. Strategies such as holding training classes and using technological infrastructure to promote this concept should be used.

Exploring the Landscape of Health Information Systems in the Philippines: A Methodical Analysis of Features and Challenges

A thorough analysis was conducted to evaluate Health Information Systems (HIS) in the Philippines utilizing the PRISMA approach. An initial pool of 313 potential articles, with 285 articles being excluded based on the exclusion criteria, resulting in a focused analysis of 28 articles. This analysis classifies the many HIS features while highlighting each one's distinct value inside the Philippine healthcare system. These features encompass scheduling and communications, record-keeping and prescription, knowledge and information management, and marketplace and payment systems. Common features to most HIS are the profiling of patient, notification system, membership verification, laboratory result generation, and electronic appointment and scheduling. Parallel to this, the study examined the many difficulties encountered in the adoption and application of HIS in the Philippines, tackling issues like a lack of human resources, infrastructure-related challenges, and the impact of regional strategies and policies. Additionally, financial issues were also found to be a major challenge hampering the successful development and maintenance of HIS within the hospital system. This methodical investigation, Philippine-specific, provides insights into the dynamic environment of HIS, providing a basis for wise choice-making and strategic planning adapted to the distinct healthcare context of the Philippines.
