The purpose of this study, which took place from December 8, 2022, to February 15, 2023, over the course of 10 weeks in the Department of Animal Production at Al-Qasim Green University’s Faculty of Agriculture, was to determine the impact, if any, that varying concentrations of an aqueous extract of the leaves of the Moringa Oleifera plant had on the reproductive and physiological qualities and the rates of hatching and fertilization for rooster breeders of the laying hen the first, a group that drank water without any flavorings or other additions, For the second, add 20 ml of an aqueous extract of Moringa oleifera leaves per litre of drinking water; for the third, add 40 ml; for the fourth, add 60 ml; for the fifth, add 80 ml; and for the sixth and final treatment, add 100 ml of an aqueous extract of Moringa oleifera leaves per litre of drinking water. As for estimating the individual movement of the sperm, we note from the results a superiority (P0.05) for the third, fourth, and fifth treatments compared to the first treatment in the fourth week. The results also showed a superiority (P0.05) for the second treatment in estimating the size of the ejaculate size compared to the first, third, and fifth treatments. The results revealed that the concentration of sperm increased significantly (P 0.05) after the second, third, fourth, and fifth treatments compared to the first.

Comparative Study On Some Medicinal Plants Against – Cisplatin Induced Infertility In Male Rats

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of some medicinal plants against cisplatin induced infertility in experimental male rats. Thirty mature albino rats weighing 180-220g. Rats used in this study divided into 6 equal groups, one was kept as a control-ve group, while the other 5 groups were injected intraperitoneally(IP) with a single dose of cisplatin (CP) (7ml / kg B.Wt.). After induction, one group was kept as (+ve) control group, while others given administration of medicinal plants [ethanolic extract of Psidium guajava leaves (EEPGL) and ethanolic extract of Moringa oleifera leaves (EEMOL) (100 and 200 mg/kg)] orally for six weeks. Biological evaluation including feed intake (FI), body weight gain % (BWG %) and feed efficiency ratio (FER) was carried. Sperm count, Sperm motility and sperm head abnormality were calculated. Serum (Testosterone, luteinizing (LH) and follicle stimulating (FSH) hormones were measured. Serum antioxidant enzymes (Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD), Glutathione Peroxidase (GPX), Catalase (CAT), level of Malondialdehyde (MDA) and nitric oxide (No) were estimated. Also histopathological changes for testis, were examined. The obtained results concluded that using EEPGL and EEMOL improved FI, BWG % and FER, sperm count, Sperm motility, sperm Hanan S. E. Eldamaty and Suzan S. Ibraheim 206 abnormality, serum hormones and antioxidant enzymes. The best results found by using high doses (200mg / kg) of EEPGL and EEMOL. According to the results, EEPGL and EEMOL could be used for improved sexual functions and protection from infertility,in male rats

Cisplatin is a prominent member of the effective broad-spectrum antitumor drugs. However, its clinical usage is restricted due to some adverse side effects, such as testiculototoxicity, hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of Aqueous Zest Extract of Citrus limonium (AZECL) on the ovary of female Wistar rat treated with Cisplatin. Twenty adult female Wistar rats were divided into four groups (A-D) containing five rats each. Group A rats served as negative control and were treated orally with 2.5 ml/kg body weight of normal saline, group B rats served as positive control group and were treated intraperitoneally with a single dose of 10 mg/kg body weight of Cisplatin, group C rats were treated orally with 50 mg/kg body weight of AZECL and group D rats were treated intraperitoneally with a single dose of 10 mg/kg body weight of Cisplatin and two weeks later treated orally with 50 mg/kg body weight of AZECL. Result showed a significant (p<0.01) decrease in primary follicles, secondary follicles, graafian follicles and a significant (p<0.01) increase in atretic follicles, PAS positive reaction and reduction in the total carbohydrate contents of the stromal cells in the positive control group. Also there was a significant (p<0.05) decrease in the activity level of FSH, LH and a significant (p<0.05) increase in Malondialdehyde when compared to rats in group A and C. The group post-treated with the extract had remarkable normalization of the histo-morphometric, histochemical and biochemical parameters when compared to the positive control group. Aqueous zests extract of C. limonium has a curative effect on cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity on the ovary.
