Abstract:The primary cementing process is aimed at providing zonal separation, preventing loss of water, preventing casing rusting and holding the casing in place during drilling of oil and gas wells. The extender, a light weight additive, is one of the materials used to reduce the fluid column's hydrostatic pressure during cement placement.
