The effects of ontology-based and password-protected blog access control on perceived privacy benefit and perceived ease of use

Abstract: Purpose -This work empirically evaluates the effectiveness of the novel ontology-based access-control mechanism and the common password-protected access-control mechanism for social blogs. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach -The ontology-based access-control scheme is designed to fit two characteristics of blog activities: social relationships and tags. A laboratory experiment is conducted to assess the perceived privacy benefit and perceived ease of use of the two mechanisms. … Show more

“…The effect of pH on Arsenic adsorption by the mercerized Bark based adsorbent (MBA) was examined at a pH range of 2.0 to 9.0 at an adsorbent dose of 0.1mg/100. The pH affects DP Bark adsorption because the formation of anions as well as the surface charges on the adsorbent [26]. Arsenic removal efficiencies were observed to be 97, 96.4, 95, 90, 80, 78, 74, and 70 % at pH values of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 respectively.…”

“…Globally, scholars have conducted extensive research on the influencing factors of knowledge-sharing (Han et al. , 2019; Liu, 2014; Sheng and Hartono, 2015; Wu et al. , 2019), but these studies were generally based on the perspective of “users” and rarely considered the impact of knowledge-sharing from the view of the platform environment.…”

“…Determining the influencing factors that motivate users to share their knowledge in the online community might help to enhance their enthusiasm for participation. Globally, scholars have conducted extensive research on the influencing factors of knowledge-sharing (Han et al, 2019;Liu, 2014;Sheng and Hartono, 2015;Wu et al, 2019), but these studies were generally based on the perspective of "users" and rarely considered the impact of knowledge-sharing from the view of the platform environment. However, social cognitive theory, ecosystem theory, and dialectical materialism all emphasize the influence of the environment on individual behavior to varying degrees.…”
