“…The first part of the questionnaire was composed of questions about the general information of participants, while the second part was composed of questions about the effects of material type and material colour tone on spatial perception. Surveys containing semantic differentiation scales, which have been verified and found reliable in some previous studies, were used in the design of the questionnaire (Yıldırım et al, 2014(Yıldırım et al, , 2015(Yıldırım et al, , 2020a(Yıldırım et al, , 2021Ayalp et al, 2016;Burnard et al, 2017;Müezzino glu et al, 2021). The semantic differential scale was listed from positive to negative (1: positive, 7: negative) and was composed of 7 steps and 11 bipolar adjective pairs.…”

“…According to these data, realistic images were obtained in a computer environment by modelling an experimental space that was desired to be researched. The modelling of the virtual cafes used in the experimental environment of this research benefited from the studies made previously by Hidayetoglu et al (2012), Yıldırım et al (2012Yıldırım et al ( , 2014Yıldırım et al ( , 2019Yıldırım et al ( , 2021 and Ayalp et al (2017). With this objective, a rectangular-planned café space was used with an area of 84 m 2 that was designed and modelled in the 3Ds Max programme as an experimental environment.…”

“…Interestingly, research has linked mental stress and fatigue to poor landscaping (Matsuoka, 2010). Likewise, it has been observed that natural landscapes at close proximity to students’ view, affect their well-being, academic productivity, overall behavior and prevents criminal behavior (Nazarpour and Norouzian-Maleki, 2021; Yıldırım et al , 2022).…”
