“…The consequences of these evolutions are significant increases of the unit cell volume and of the c/a parameter upon Ga for Fe substitution. A previous study 16 has suggested that this behavior could be linked to a preferential occupation of the Ga substituent atoms on some crystallographic sites. In order to determine the solubility limit of Ga in Nd 2 Fe 14 B, we have also tried to synthesize the Nd 2 Fe 11 Ga 3 B compound but the diffraction pattern clearly exhibits the same lattice parameters as Nd 2 Fe 12.2 Ga 1.8 B as well as the existence of extra phases.…”

“…And the Curie temperatures T c of Nd 2 Fe 14 B, a-Fe and Fe 3 B phases almost do not change by the addition of Ga, which is in contrast with the dependence of T c of Nd 2 (Fe 1-x-Ga x ) 14 B in which Ga atoms were proved to replace Fe atoms in the Nd 2 Fe 14 B phase. 10 The Curie temperatures in R-T (R ¼ rare earth metal, T ¼ transition metal) compounds depend upon the summarization of Fe-Fe exchange interactions; it increases with increasing Fe-Fe interatomic distan-ces and with decreasing the number of Fe nearest neighbors. 11 The constant Curie temperature indicates that Fe-Fe interatomic distances and the number of Fe nearest neighbors are not changed with the Ga content.…”
