“…The major role of NADPH in erythrocytes is the regeneration of reduced glutathione, which in turn prevents heme oxidation and preserves the integrity of sulphydryl groups of α and β chains to forestall Heinz bodies and the integrity of red blood cell membrane proteins [35]. G6PDH activity is also influenced by many chemical agents and drugs, like ampicillin sulphate, Mg 2+ , diazepam and ethanol [27,[36][37][38].…”

“…In previous research, it was discovered that while abscisic acid increased the rat erythrocyte G6PD enzyme activity, it decreased the enzyme activity of putrescine, metamizole, magnesium sulfate, ethanol, dantrolene sodium, naringenin, and lead acetate . It was also determined that while dantrolene sodium, propofol, and lead acetate decreased 6PGD enzyme activities, naringenin had no significant effect on enzyme activity …”

“…investigated in vitro effect of new oxindoles derivatives on rat erythrocyte G6PD and 6PGD enzymes activity. Another study deals with effect of ethanol on rat and human erythrocyte G6PD enzyme activity . Temel and Kocyigit investigated the effect of various metal ions on rat erythrocyte G6PD enzyme activity.…”
