Abstract: CdO and CdO:Ga films were produced using the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. The structural, optical and electrical properties of produced films were defined by x-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), UV-VIS spectrophotometer and electrical measurements, respectively. Thin films of (CdO)x (CuO)1-x (where x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5) were prepared by the pulsed laser deposition. The CuO addition caused an increase in diffraction peaks intensity at (111) and a decrease in diffraction peaks intensity at (200). As CuO content increases, the band gap increases to a maximum of 3.51 eV, maximum resistivity of 8.251x 104 Ω.cm with mobility of 199.5 cm2 / V.s, when x= 0.5. The results show that the conductivity is ntype when x value was changed in the range (0 to 0.4) but further addition of CuO converted the samples to p-type.

In this study; CoNi alloy thin film coatings were produced by electrodeposition method without additives and using additional additives (organic coumarin and thiourea). The structural and magnetic properties of the produced thin films were investigated. When coumarin was added to the bath composition, it was determined that cobalt in the film content decreased from 67.94% to 43.82%, when it was added to thiourea, it decreased to 34.33% and both films showed amorphous properties. Magnetization measurements were performed and hysteresis curves were obtained. Figure A. Hysteresis loops obtained from magnetic measurements of CoNi alloy thin films, and SEM images Purpose: In this study; It was aimed to produce CoNi alloy thin films by using coumarin and thiourea as an additive in the electrolyte and to investigate the structural and magnetic properties. The effects of additives on the amount of substance deposited in the thin film, crystal structure and magnetic properties (coercivity, saturation magnetization and permanent magnetization) were investigated. Theory and Methods: CoNi alloy thin films were produced by electrodeposition method. A potentiostat with constant direct current and voltage control as a power source was used in the setting. Platinum wire as the opposite electrode saturated calomel electrode (SCE) as the reference electrode and aluminum substrate as the working electrode were used. The structural and magnetic properties of the produced films were investigated by CV, ICP, XRD, SEM and VSM analyzes. Results: CoNi alloy thin films were successfully deposited on aluminum substrates. XRD measurements and SEM images obtained from thin films were analyzed. Thin films deposited with the additive of organic thiourea and coumarin did not crystallize and showed amorphous properties. It was confirmed by hysteresis loops that all three thin-film coatings produced exhibited ferromagnetic material behavior. It was seen that the additives had a significant effect on the amount of material in the alloy film, crystal structure, and magnetic properties. Conclusion: Organic coumarin and thiourea additives were found to significantly change the amount of cobalt and nickel in the deposited thin-film content. The amount of cobalt and nickel material changes the crystal structure, grain size and magneto-crystal anisotropy of the thin film. By controlling these changes, it was understood that the desired soft and hard magnetic materials could be produced.

Effect of Annealing Time on Structure, Morphology, and Optical Properties of Nanostructured CdO Thin Films Prepared by CBD Technique

Nanostructured cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films were deposited onto glass substrates using the chemical bath deposition (CBD) technique. Different deposition parameters such as deposition time, bath temperature, pH, and CdSO4 concentration have been considered to specify the optimum conditions to obtain uniform and well-adherent thin films. The thin films prepared under these optimum conditions were annealed for different times (20, 40, and 60 min) at 300 °C, where no previous studies had been done to study the effect of annealing time. The XRD analysis showed that the as-deposited film is Cd(OH)2 with a hexagonal phase. While all the annealed films are CdO with a cubic phase. The crystallite size increases with the annealing time. However, the strain, dislocation density, and the number of crystallites were found to be decreased with annealing time. SEM images of annealed films showed a spherical nanoparticle with an average of particle size 80–46 nm. EDX analysis revealed that the ratio of cadmium to oxygen increases with increasing the annealing time to 40 min. The optical characterization shows that the transmittance is in the range of 63–73% and the energy gap is in the range of 2.61–2.56 eV. It has been found that the transmittance increased and the energy gap decreased with the annealing time. The prepared CdO films can be used in photodegradation applications to remove pollutants from water.
