The effects of dietary supplementation with different levels of Microzist as newly developed probiotics on growth performance, carcass characteristics, and immunological organs of broiler chicks

Abstract: The current research was conducted to evaluate the influence of newly developed probiotic (Microzist) and commercial probiotic (Primalac) on growth performance, carcass characteristics, and immunity of broiler chickens. A total of 225 one-day-old broiler chicks Ross-308 was randomly assigned into 5 groups -control group, group with 0.2, 0.25, and 0.3 g/kg of Microzist, and group constituting Primalac (starter: 0.9 g/kg, grower: 0.454 g/kg, and finisher: 0.225 g/kg). At 42 nd day of age, there were no statistic… Show more

“…Statistical analysis of gizzard and heart weight showed there was no significant (p > 0.05) difference between experimental groups. This indicated that inclusion of probiotic and their combination did not stimulate the internal organ weight (Parsa et al, 2018). This finding was in line with (Shabani, Nosrati, Javandel, & Kioumarsi, 2012) that different level of probiotics had no statistically effect on gizzard weight.…”

“…Moreover, the administration of probiotics to dairy calves results in improvement daily weight gain and resolution of diarrhea (17). Similar results have also been reported in other animals, including poultry (2,18), ostriches (19), raccoon dogs (20), and silver foxes (20). LAB have widely been applied in animal feed.…”

“…Not all growth-promoting effects are mediated by bacterial metabolites or active colonization of the gastrointestinal tract, and inactivated or live probiotics had a similar performance, superior to the other commonly used growth promoter, as zinc bacitracin ( 1 ). Similar results and conclusions were reported by other authors, demonstrating any significant differences on the influences of probiotic supplementation on lymphoid organs weights ( 2 ). In this optic our approach for this study was to evaluate the impact of live and concentrated probiotic bacteria on systemic and mucosal immune-response in healthy dogs, evaluating directly immunoglobulin concentration.…”
