The effects of binary stars on the colors of galaxies at z~2.0

Abstract: Abstract. Using the Monte Carlo simulations and a set of theoretical galaxy templates, which are built on the Yunnan evolutionary population synthesis models with and without binary interactions, we compare the optical color-color (C-C) relations for passive and star-forming galaxies at redshift z ∼ 2.0, and study the effect of binary interactions on this relation. We find that the influence of binary interactions on the C-C relation is insignificant for passive galaxies at z ∼ 2.0.Keywords. binary: general, g… Show more

“…where R IB (s) is the standard isospin breaking correction (see [35,[38][39][40]). The τ requires to be corrected for missing ρ − γ mixing as well, before being used as I=1 e + e − data, because results obtained from e + e − data is what goes into the DR (2) (the photon coupled to π + π − not to π ± π 0 ).…”

“…In the last 15 years e + e − cross-section measurements have dramatically improved, from energy scans [27][28][29] at Novosibirsk (NSK) and later, using the radiative return mecha- nism, measurements via initial state radiation (ISR) at meson factories (see figure 4) [30][31][32][33][34]. A third possibility to enhance experimental information useful to improve HVP estimates are τ -decay spectra τ →ν τ π 0 π − , · · · , supplied by isospin breaking effects [5][6][7][35][36][37][38][39][40]. In the conserved vector current (CVC) limit τ spectra should be identical to the isovector part I = 1 of the e + e − spectra, as illustrated in figure 5.…”

“…However, since many years there is a persistent discrepancy of the order of about 3 sigma. The uncertainty of the theory prediction is dominated by the hadronic contributions, both from the vacuum polarization [6][7][8] (see Refs. [9][10][11] for a recent compilations) and the so-called light-by-light part [12].…”

“…A new combined electroweak and QCD analysis was performed by the H1 Collaboration using the full low and high Q 2 HERA data [19]. Weak vector and axial couplings of light up-and downtype quarks to the Z boson (v q , a q ) were extracted from the combined fit simultaneously with the PDFs.…”
