“…The field exercise trial was designed to elicit a steady state level of exercise at the subject's target heart rate for the purpose of establishing the RPE at THR under simulated exercise training conditions. Several previous studies have employed either a series of five-mm treadmill bouts or an 800-rn field trial for this purpose (8,10,31,32). An 800-rn trial was used in the present investigation, and this trial was completed on a 200-rn indoor track within forty-eight hours of the second laboratory treadmill test.…”
