Nelumbo nucifera merupakan tumbuhan air yang tumbuh ditanah berlumpur dan tergenang air seperti di rawa. Nelumbo nucifera juga digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional seperti pengobatan diare, inflamasi jaringan dan homeostatis. Bunga dan daun Nelumbo nucifera mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, dan kandungan antioksidan. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ekstrak etanol bunga dan daun Nelumbo nucifera dapat diformulasikan sebagai lulur krim dan konsentrasi 3% , 5% dan 7% mampu melembabkan pada kulit. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental yang meliputi pembuatan simplisia, pembuatan ekstrak, pembuataan sediaan lulur dari ekstrak etanol bunga dan daun Nelumbo nucifera dan evalausi sediaan lulur. penelitian ini memperoleh persentase peningkatan kelembaban krim ekstrak etanol bunga Nelumbo nucifera pada F1 sebesar 41,2%, F2 sebesar 46,5%, F3 sebesar 52,9%. Hasil persentase peningkatan kelembaban krim ekstrak daun Nelumbo nucifera diperoleh F1 sebesar 38,8%, F2 sebesar 44,4% dan F3 sebesar 47,7%. Ekstrak etanol bunga dan daun Nelumbo Formulation and Physical Stability Testing of... 97 nucifera dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan lulur krim. Lulur krim dari ekstrak bunga dan daun Nelumbo nucifera dengan konsentrasi 3% 5% dan 7% dapat memberikan efek melembabkan pada kulit.

Ambon banana stem are known to contain chemical compounds including flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. One of these chemical compounds has the potential as an antioxidant, namely flavonoids which has antioxidant properties as free radical scavengers. Antioxidants can be used to repair skin cells damaged by free radicals, these antioxidants can provide a moisturizing and brightening effect on the skin so that the skin is not only kept moist and looks radiant. The purpose of this study was to formulate sheet mask preparation from ethanol extract of Ambon banana stem (Musa paradisiaca var. sapientum (L)) into various concentration 5%, 7% and 9%. The sheet mask was then being examined for its activity to provide smoother skin after 4 weeks of treatment by measuring skin moisture content. Data was then being analyzed using ANOVA method. The research showed that sheet mask preparation of Ambon banana stem ethanol extract met the requirements for organoleptic evaluation, homogeneity, pH, irritation test. In increasing moisture content of Ambon banana stem ethanol extract sheet mask preparation, showed insignificant value (p > 0.05) where there is no significant difference toward the positive control. These results conclude that the sheet mask preparation of Ambon banana stem ethanol extract provides a moisturizing effect on skin. Keywords: Ambon banana stem, moisturizer, sheet mask

Lady finger (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) pod contain polyphenolic compounds, carotene, folic acid, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin C, oxalic acid, and amino acids. Lady finger seed contain polyphenolic compounds, mainly oligomeric catechins and flavonol derivatives, protein (i.e., high lysine levels) and oil fraction (in particular, its derived oil is rich in palmitic, oleic, and linoleic acids). This study aimed to formulate a sheet mask of Lady Finger extract, and examining its moisturizing effect on volunteers' skin. This was an experimental study, which conducted by maceration of Lady Finger simplicia, then formulated the essence into sheet mask sheet preparation. Lady Finger extract was varied in 3%, 5% and 7% concentration. Evaluation of preparation include of the quality of the preparation (organoleptic, homogeneity, pH value, and stability). Sheet mask was then examined for its irritation test and effectiveness as moisturizer on volunteers skin. Moisturizing effect was seen each week for 4 weeks treatment by using it twice a week. The results showed that all sheet masks were homogeneous, had pH of 5.6-6.1, stable for 12 days of storage by using cycling test method, and did not irritate the skin. Moisturizing effect of Lady Finger extract sheet mask at 7% concentration was more effective than other concentrations in terms of increasing the water content by 37.36% and smoothness by 40.02%. It can be concluded that Lady Finger (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) extract can be formulated as an moisturizing sheet mask and 7% concentration of Lady Finger extract sheet mask preparation showed the best moisturizing activity.
