The Effectiveness of “Fear of Missing Out” Inducing Content in Facebook Advertisements

Abstract: This study aimed to extend previous findings by investigating whether the inclusion of a "Fear of missing out" (FOMO) message in Facebook advertisements improves memory for the advertisements.
