“…Although there was a thorough attempt at evaluating the impact of the intervention on the participants, it was therefore not possible to distinguish the particular contribution of the arts within it, as it seemed that other issues such as group experiences of commonality were an important factor in the positive participant feedback. Salzano, Lindemann, and Tronsky (2013) undertook an empirical evaluation of the impact of a collaborative art task on burnout and work-stress amongst hospice staff. Echoing Nainis's (2005) views on work-stress affecting detrimentally the quality of patient care, Salzano et al reviewed Vachon's (1995) findings on work-stress within hospices: social and team-building support seemed paramount in alleviating work-stress and decreasing burnout.…”
