“…It is not an easy thing to obtain a PP with a high content of β-crystals. In addition, during induction growth and processing, β-crystals may be transformed into α-, γ-, or even mesophase crystals [ 123 , 124 , 125 ] under different shear force and thermal conditions. How one is to improve the nucleation efficiency of β-crystals and obtain a high content of β-crystal polypropylene has always been the direction of people’s efforts.…”

“…Regarding the varying k β with the matrix chain structure, it is now widely accepted that the insertion of comonomer in PPR disrupts the chain regularity, leads to an unfavorable β-growth kinetically, and results in decreased k β . Generally, the α- and β-phases in iPP have different temperature-dependent growth rates. β-Phase is kinetically favorable in a certain temperature range T ** – T * , between which β-phase has a higher growth rate with respect to α-phase. , For PPH, this temperature range is approximately 100–140 °C, where the crystallization process happens to be carried out, ,, so that a high k β can be easily achieved. In contrast, Varga and Schulek-Tóth found that the upper critical temperature T * in PPR shifted to a lower temperature, as such restricting the formation of β-phase.…”
