“…Long-term complications after Rastelli-type operations in patients with D-TGA with VSD and pulmonary atresia include regurgitation or stenosis of the valved conduit between the RV and PA, residual VSD, and re-stenosis of the peripheral PA, which occurred in the present case. Other possible complications reported were an obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract, aortic regurgitation, left ventricular dysfunction, arrhythmias, endocarditis, and sudden death [ 14 , 18 20 ].…”

“…There are some reports describing the benefits of VSD enlargement on the outcome of the Rastelli procedure [22]. The CF method involves VSD enlargement combined with the transfer of the interrupting chordae and may contribute to the enlargement of the LVOT.…”

“…Navabi et al (7) report on the effect of ventricular septal defect (VSD) enlargement on the outcome of Rastelli or Rastelli-type repair of TGA; 49 patients had Rastelli operations and were involved in a follow-up study divided into 2 groups: group A had VSD enlargement, and group B did not have VSD enlargement. Median age and weight at the time of the operation were 6 years and 17 kg, respectively.…”
