The effect of thyroid dysfunction and treatment on fat tissue adiponectin levels in rats

Abstract: Adipose tissue is a hormonal active system that produces and releases leptin, adiponectin and resistin. Seen from this aspect, it may be thought that adiponectin may interact with the thyroid axis. Thyroid function disturbance led to changes on the body weight, muscle volume and adipose tissue. Experimental findings show that adiponectin and thyroid hormones have biological interactin with each other.
