The objectives of this study are to capture the implementation of Think Pair Share (TPS) in teaching-learning process, to identify the improvement of the students' writing skills, and to find out the strengths and the weaknesses of Think Pair Share (TPS) in the teaching-learning process of the seventh-grade students of MTS AL Islahuddin Kediri. This research is a classroom action research. The researcher used qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data was interview and observation. The quantitative data was tested. The step to analyze the qualitative data used data reducing, data display, and conclusion drawing. The step to analyze the quantitative data used mean formula. The result of the research shows that there are positive improvements in either student" writing skills or the class situation during the teaching-learning process. It can be seen from the result of the test which is improved, from the students" writing score and the post-test conducted after the action. The mean scores of students" writing scores are increased. Besides, the situation of the class is more conducive before implementing it. From the class situations improvement, it can be drawn some strengths and the weaknesses of the Think Pair Share (TPS) implementation in writing class. The strengths include that the Think Pair Share (TPS) can build critical thinking, motivation, classroom interaction, easy to discuss, -self-confidence, and active learners. The weaknesses are required special attention in classroom use, and it needs a mediator.

The research aimed to investigate the incorporation of creativity in writing materials for seventh graders. To achieve quality education for junior high school, teachers and school leaders must provide effective learning materials focusing on curriculum objectives and students’ skills. Besides, creativity was a skill in Profil Pelajar Pancasila that must be implemented in every learning subject. The research applied a qualitative method. Therefore, the respondents were teachers in four junior high schools from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi area, especially Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi. In-depth interviews were gathered to explore the information on learning materials used by teachers. Moreover, it was also to explore the type of creativity taught through writing materials. The result shows creativity in learning materials lay in phase while-writing. Then, descriptive text is the most genre to support students' creativity, especially on topics of family, friends, personal information, and neighborhood. Therefore, future design of creativity-incorporated writing materials needs to be carried out supporting other phases of writing using updated learning media.

This research is motivated by the low interest in reading that students have. The low interest in reading makes the lack of vocabulary mastery. The purpose of this study is to explain the contribution of environmental vocabulary mastery and reading interest to students' expository text writing skills. This type of research is quantitative research. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The research data were obtained from the final test results of exposition text writing skills of class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Sungai Kijang, Pelalawan Regency, Riau. Instruments to collect vocabulary mastery data using objective tests, reading interest using questionnaire techniques / research instruments, while to collect data on exposition text writing skills using written tests. The technique of analyzing data used in this research is descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that there was a significant contribution between the mastery of vocabulary in the environmental field to the skill of writing exposition texts of Class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Sungai Kijang Regency Pelalawan Riau. This means that the better the mastery of vocabulary in the environmental field of students, the better the degree of writing skills of the student's exposition text. Then there is a significant contribution between reading interest and exposition text writing skills of Class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Sungai Kijang Regency Pelalawan Riau. This means that the better the student's interest in reading, the higher the degree of skill in writing the student's expository text. Finally, there is a simultaneous contribution between the mastery of vocabulary in the environmental field and reading interest to the exposition text writing skills of Grade XI students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Sungai Kijang Regency Pelalawan Riau.
