The effect of recent Venus transit on Earth’s atmosphere

Abstract: Some experiments on June 8, 2004, the day of transit of Venus across the Sun, were undertaken at Kolkata (latitude: 22°34lN) to observe the effect, if any, of transit of Venus on FWF, ELF and VLF amplitudes. The result shows a good correlation between their temporal variations during the transit. The observation was unbelievable as the Venus subtends only 1/32th of the cone subtended by Sun on Earth. This anomaly may be explained on the assumption that the height of Venusian atmosphere with high content of CO2… Show more

“…Whenever excess boron is present in solution in austenite, it segregates to the c grain boundary, thus inhibiting the transformation of austenite to ferrite, and resulting in increase in hardenability of steel. 5 Although plenty of works 6,7 have been carried out on the effect of boron on properties of hot rolled steels, limited literature is available on its effect in cold rolled formable grades particularly when carbon is in the range 0?03-0?06 wt-%. The present paper discusses the effect of B/N atomic ratio on the forming properties in general and plastic anisotropy ratio r m in particular, in low carbon aluminium killed batch annealed steel.…”

“…Successfully grafting biofunctional molecules onto nanoparticles modulates their surface characteristics and achieves desired biological activity such as biosensing, [34][35][36] bioimaging, [37,38] and targeted therapy [39,40] (Figure 1). For instance, nanoparticle structures specifically modified with ions, fluorophores, or antibodies can behave as nanoprobes for surface chemical fluctuations such as pH as well as sensors for reactive oxygen species (ROS) and biologically threatening agents.…”

“…Inclusion of glutamine in the LHRH homologues could be advantageous for precisely targeting the delivery of drug to the tumor site, as glutamine is known to play crucial roles in the cancer cell proliferation. 45 The bifunctional chelating agent 6-hydrazino-3-carboxylic acid (HYNIC) was used to conjugate the peptides. 11 Subsequently, the DX-loaded SLN (DS-SLN) surface was functionalized/decorated with the newly synthesized peptide analogue.…”
