“…Numerous experimental studies have shown that applying PRP on intestinal anastomosis resulted in improved anastomosis healing . PRP contains various growth factors including platelet‐derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor β ‐1 and 2 (TGF β ‐1, 2), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), and insulin‐like growth factor (IGF), which have a critical role in wound healing . In our study, we demonstrated that PRP enhanced the anastomosis healing and increased the tissue regeneration shown by increased ABP and hydroxyproline levels and decreased inflammation and oedema in the anastomotic site.…”

“…It was formerly thought that platelets have only haemostatic activity, but recent studies have shown that platelets play a critical role in inflammation by producing various growth factors and cytokines . “…The rats (n=4) were anesthetized with xylazine associated with ketamine at doses of 10 and 70 mg/kg, respectively, intramuscular. The induction of sepsis by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) followed the technique used in other studies [16][17][18][19] . Briefly, after shaving and disinfecting the lower quadrants of the abdomen with…”
