The Effect of Physical Exercise on Gross Motor Function in Children with Cerebral Palsy: A Meta-Analysis

Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of physical exercise intervention on gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Computer searches of Web of Science, PubMed, Embase (Ovid), Cochrane Library, and Medline databases were conducted on October 6, 2021. “…In this study, to ensure the reliability of the cited evidence, the PEDro scoring system was used to evaluate the risk of bias of the nine selected papers ( Yang et al, 2022 ). The PEDro scoring system consists of eleven criteria: explicitly setting the inclusion criteria for the study participants, the randomization of the participant selection process and the concealment of the allocation in the grouping, the similarity at baseline and blinding of participants, therapists, and evaluators, a follow-up rate of greater than 85%, the use of intention-to-treat analysis, statistical comparisons between groups, and accurate reporting of data points and indicators of variability are all key factors in ensuring the reliability and validity of the study results.…”
