One broiler strain was reared on three litter floors, and femur, tibia bone morphometry and biomechanics findings showed significant changes across the groups. Plastic floor broilers showed higher live weight but weaker bones at the end of the experiment. Leg health indicators (deformity angle and tibial dyschondroplasia) and bone strength was were superior in ZL. These differences in bone morphometry and biomechanics among groups may be due to differences in litter flooring rather than differences in growth rates.
