The effect of nonmonotonic radiation of a recombining plasma in a shock wave

Abstract: Experimental results are given which demonstrate the influence of solid-state screens on the radiation of an expanding laser-produced plasma. We have discovered the effect of the nonmonotonic intensity of radiation of a recombining plasma during its encounter with a shock wave reflected from the screen. A theory of this effect is proposed for the case where a change in the ionic composition in a shock wave is insignificant, and numerical calculations have been made.

“…Therefore, from the standpoint of X-pinch diagnostics, the main attention should be paid to creating diagnostic methods for detection and analysis of UV and X-ray emission of the Х-pinch plasma. However, many new methods for X-ray spectroscopy of hot plasma were implemented for the first time namely in Х-pinch experiments .…”
