“…GTN is an organic nitrate that has been demonstrated to significantly reduce maternal blood pressure and umbilical artery resistance, without affecting uterine artery resistance in a pilot clinical trial of 12 women with severe preeclampsia . Many other clinical trials assessing the potential for GTN as an anti‐hypertensive treatment for preeclampsia report a reduction in blood pressure . These studies also report a side effect of severe headaches from nitrate.…”
