The Effect of Modifiers on the Rheokinetics of Curing of Chlorine-Containing Epoxy Binders

Abstract: An investigation was made of the effect of low-viscosity epoxy oligomer DER-330, active diluent DEG-1, and temperature on the rheokinetic properties of chlorine-containing epoxy oligomer of grade EKhD cured with liquid curing agent isomethyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride. It was established that, by introducing modifiers and changing the temperature, the gelation time of the epoxy binder can be varied in a wide range, from 22 min to 28 h.

“…When creating articles of PCMs based on EOs, a three-dimensional crosslinked structure is formed during curing, which is a fairly complex multistage process [1]. The initial stages of this process (up to the gelation point) can be judged from the change in viscosity of the EO in time (the rheokinetics) at the prescribed temperature [2].…”
