The effect of mercury, quintozene and thiophanate-methyl on the yield of winter rye at the Kotkaniemi experimental farm during the years 1972—1978

Abstract: Abstract. The spraying of the seedlings in the autumn with thiophanate-methyl gave the highest yield increase when there Was snowmould present. In most cases the yield increase was obtained even in the absence of the disease. Seeddressing with this product also appeared very beneficial. The results of quintozene-spraying and mercuryseeddressingwere not as good. The difficulty of finding the correct timing for quintozenespraying limits its efficiency in practice.
