“…Au [8], Pt [9], TiO2 [3] and IrO2 [10] have been extensively investigated to better understand electrocatalytic reaction mechanisms [11,12]. Recently, AuNP suspensions were reported for the ensemble electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose at rotating disc electrodes [13]. In these reports, the nanoparticles are generally prepared by chemical approaches, which inevitably involve nanoparticle surface modification.…”

“…Recently, we and others demonstrated that it is possible to record the amperometric response of the catalytic nanoparticles from the background current on standard size disc electrodes (diameter in the range of millimetres) in forced convection conditions. This was done in both flow system and with rotating disc electrode . It was concluded, that adsorption of catalytic nanoparticles provides suitable conditions for discrimination of the faradaic from capacitive current.…”

“…This results in current increase. Such phenomenon was demonstrated on the example of electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose in AuNPs suspension at glassy carbon rotating disc electrode . Nevertheless, the recorded current resulted rather from adsorption than collisions of nanoparticles on the electrode surface.…”

“…Although the electrochemical studies of AuNPs films were extensive , , there are only few examples of electrochemical research of AuNPs suspensions . On the basis of earlier studies one can conclude that the electrochemical analysis of gold nanoparticles suspensions can be based on either their electrodissolution or electrocatalytic behaviour .…”
