Poverty rate in Indonesia is currently relatively high that requires real action from the government to reduce it. The government efforts to reduce the poverty rate are reflected in the government expenditure. This research reveals the regional government expenditure effectiveness in reducing poverty and unemployment rate in South Sulawesi Province. Data used in the research are panel data, which is a combination of cross-section data of 24 regencies and city and time series data in 2009-2018. The data will be analyzed using econometric models with simultaneous equation system. The research finds that private investment has a significant influence in reducing poverty rate, whereas capital expenditure has a significant influence in increasing private investment. Moreover, investment has a significant influence in improving gross regional domestic product in industrial sector as well as other sectors. Population has a positive influence in improving poverty rate indicating that regional government should support the planned family policy. The result of policy simulation indicates that an increase in capital expenditure, total government expenditure, and goods and services expenditure by the regional government, brings positive impact on economic growth and poverty reduction.

Kemiskinan sudah menjadi permasalahan multidimensi dan kompleks. Maka dari itu, perlu adanya upaya untuk mengentaskan kemiskinan yang dilakukan secara tepat dan juga terarah. Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu guna menganalisis pengaruh UMK (Upah Minimum Kabupaten), IPM (Indeks Pembangunan Manusia), GR (Gini Ratio), dan PPK (Pendapatan Perkapita) terhadap TK (Tingkat Kemiskinan) di Karesidenan Madiun. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis data sekunder berbentuk data panel yang artinya gabungan dari data cross sectional dan time series. Sumber data didapatkan dari Badan Pusat Statistik dan Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi Provinsi Jawa Timur. Variabel terikat dalam penelitian ini adalah tingkat kemiskinan Kabupaten/kota di wilayah pemukiman Madiun tahun 2016-2020. Variabel bebasnya yaitu Upah Minimum Kabupaten, Indeks Pembangunan Manusia, Gini Ratio dan Pendapatan Perkapita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak adanya pengaruh UMK dan Gini Ratio terhadap tingkat kemiskinan. Di sisi lain, terdapat pengaruh dari IPM dan Pendapatan Perkapita terhadap tingkat kemiskinan. .

Economic growth is very important for all countries, one way to increase economic growth is to invest in both Domestic Investment (PMDN) and Foreign Investment (PMA). This study aims to analyze the effect of investment on economic growth in the Province. This research is quantitative research using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, especially in the Province of Riau. The study results show that foreign investment and domestic investment, as well as several superior business sectors in Riau province, basically increase gross domestic product, which means it affects the economic growth of Riau province. The hope is that there is a need for coordination and a clear division of tasks and responsibilities between government units in districts in Riau Province to improve infrastructure services. Carry out a reform agenda in regional regulations. It is necessary to form an official investor forum and be carried out regularly, and Provincial and district governments should integrate policies and investment development programs (investment) following sectors/sub-sectors and highly competitive commodities in the region.
