Abstract:Background: Stroke involving extracranial carotid (ECAS), vertebral (EVAS), and intracranial arteries (IAS) contributed to an annual stroke rate of 0.1-3.3%. Even though endarterectomy and/or angioplasty and stenting had revolutionized its’ management, best medical treatment (BMT) is still the mainstay of therapy to prevent secondary stroke/transient ischemic attack. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of BMT to reduce the degree of stenosis by using six-months double antiplatelet therapy (DAPT).
