Entrepreneurial ecosystems explain the way in which the context shapes entrepreneurial activity, and at the same time, illustrate the level of development of the territory and its suitability for the birth of companies. The objective of this research is to characterize the entrepreneurial ecosystems of the municipalities of Mexico. The study is descriptive, quantitative, since indicators are used to generate a classification through the analysis of hierarchical clusters, using data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, of 2,008 municipalities in Mexico. As a result, it was possible to identify five groups of municipalities, according to the factors of capital, entrepreneurship and economic growth, in addition to the informality of entrepreneurship that characterizes the Mexican territory. Five clusters of entrepreneurship ecosystems were found, the first with high informality, a second with a low level of social capital and high informality, cluster three with low human capital and low entrepreneurship, a fourth cluster with medium human capital and low entrepreneurship, and finally a cluster with high entrepreneurship. It is concluded that studying the entrepreneurial ecosystems allows obtaining objective data on the state of the municipalities and carrying out a classification by their degree of development.
