The effect of antidiuretic hormone on solute flows in mammalian collecting tubules

Abstract: A B S T R A C T These experiments were intended to evaluate the antidiur-etic hormone (ADH)-dependent reflection coefficients of urea, sucrose, and NaCl in cortical and outer medullary collecting tubules isolated from mammalian kidney. When perfused, it had the characteristic histologic appearance described by Grantham, Ganote, Burg, and Orloff (45) and by Schafer and Andreoli (41).
