The E-man-ci-pation of Jeannie: Feminist Doppelgangers on U.S. Television

Abstract: “The Americanization of Jeannie” (1965), an early episode of I Dream of Jeannie, directly represents the women's liberation movement as Jeannie attempts emancipation.
