“…Insecure attachment is also correlated with substance use disorders among students (Brennan & Shaver, 1998;Burge et al, 1997;Lindberg & Zeid 2016) and in the IMPLICIT ATTACHMENT AND SUBSTANCE USE general population (Mickelson, Kessler, & Shaver, 1997;Vungkhanching, Sher, Jackson, & Parra, 2004). In the same way, insecure attachment appears to be overrepresented in patients with sever alcohol-use disorders (De Rick, Vanheule, & Verhaeghe, 2009;Thorberg & Lyvers, 2006;Wedekind et al, 2013) and among people who use illicit drugs (Finzi-Dottan, Cohen, Iwaniec, Sapir, & Weizman, 2003;Schindler et al, 2005).…”

“…El apego inseguro se ha revelado factor de riesgo de diversos problemas de salud mental 25 . Pero también los TCD tienen un fuerte impacto negativo en la calidad de las relaciones y, especialmente en muestras de consumidores de drogas de larga evolución 8 el apego inseguro podría ser en parte consecuencia del consumo de drogas.…”

“…Family adaptability (role flexibility) and cohesion (emotional bonds) are broader aspects of family functioning and have proven useful for understanding other areas of mental health, such as addiction (e.g. Finzi-Dottan, Cohen, Iwaniec, Sapir, & Weizman, 2003; Teichman & Basha, 1996), and could potential help in understanding the association among suicide attempts and attachment security. Also, research concerning this topic has primarily focused on parental attachment, but with the increasing importance of peers during adolescence, it might be expected that peer attachment may become more strongly related to suicide attempts than parental attachment during this period (Allen & Land, 1999).…”
