“…The force sensor is used for sensing and measuring of tool electrode force [21]. Chak et al developed the electrochemical discharge machine which offers accurate vertical feed motion to tool electrode in Z-axis and gives controlled rotary motion by using the controller of a stepper motor [22], [23]. Paul et al fabricated ECDM setup which consists of X-Y axis scanning stage used for the movement of the workpiece in X-axis and Y-axis direction.…”

“…During the last decades, the researchers studied especially the possibilities to use the electrochemical discharge process to machine workpieces made of insulating materials [1]; generally, the explanations concerning the phenomena occurring within the work zone and the influence exerted by different factors on the characteristics of technological interest were preferentially emphasized. Thus, Chak and Rao [2] showed that workpieces of ceramics such as aluminium oxide (Al2O3) can be drilled by the using of the electrochemical discharge process; they built a specialized machine tool destined to be used for drilling and proved that a rotary abrasive electrode can enhance the process efficiency. The analysis of some aspects specific to the electric pulses in the case of the electro -discharge -electrochemical process was made by Schulze et al [3]; they emphasized that two different processes can be successively used: a rough electrical discharge machining process with pulse currents up to 500 A and a final finishing process which uses pulse currents up to 2000 A.…”
