The Difference of Ph Saliva in Women Rinsed With Tea Bag and Crushed in PKK Kelurahan Muktiharjo Kidul

J… Show more

“…5 In the previous theory, normal pH values ranged from 6.5-7. 18 The average salivary pH value after exposure to pomegranate peel extract was 6.89. This can be caused by the absence of antibacterial interactions as in the actual condition of the human oral cavity.…”

“…The effect of lowering the pH can be used in the oral cavity that is too alkaline, because if there is an increase in the pH of saliva (alkaline) it will result in the formation of calculus. 18 This research is expected to provide benefits as a reference for further research in the field of dentistry, but there are some limitations. The limitation of this study was that it did not involve human subjects because the time of the study coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic.…”

“…In the oral cavity, various factors can influence changes in the pH level of saliva, including food factors, oral hygiene products, smoking habits, systemic diseases, and radiation to the salivary glands [7]. This can be affected by the rate of saliva flow, saliva buffer capacity, and microorganisms in the oral cavity [11]. Changes in the pH level in the oral cavity can affect the durability of applied implant metals.…”

“…These bacteria are present in the plaque attached to the teeth and metabolise cariogenic food scraps, especially those from fermentable carbohydrates such as sucrose (Putri et al, 2019). Decreased salivary pH (acidic) and a lower amount of saliva indicate a high risk of caries, thereby increasing the risk of gingivitis (Mardiati and Prasto, 2017).…”
