<pre>Abstract. Games book learning media is one of the learning media that can help teachers deliver material to students through a game. Games book is a book-shaped media in which there are various games that interest students in reading. The purpose of this study is to prove that the use of media games books can increase reading interest in grade IV students. The type of research is classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four steps, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were teacher and fourth grade students of Elementary School Djama'atul Ichwan Surakarata. Data collection techniques in this study through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Data validity testing techniques in this study used triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the reading interest of pre-action students who scored high interest in reading categories was only 29% or 9 students. In cycle I, students who received high interest in reading scores occurred at meeting 1 to 55% or 17 students and meeting 2 to 81% or 25 students. In cycle II there was an increase again in meeting 1 with a score of 87% or 27 students and in meeting 2 to 90% or 28 students. The results showed that the use of game media books could increase the reading interest of Class IV D students at SD Djama'atul Ichwan Surakarta in the academic year 2019/2020.</pre>

Covid-19 has brought comprehensive changes in the field of education such as conducting learning with a distance learning system. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the teacher's view of learning needs and explore the factors that become obstacles in online thematic learning in elementary schools. This type of research is a mixed methods research, namely qualitative and quantitative research designs. The subject of this research is to take a sample of teachers in 20 elementary schools with a population of 200 teachers with a sample of 20 teachers. The sampling method used simple random sampling. Quantitative data in the form of samples based on questionnaire scores from 5th grade teachers with a sample of 20 teachers from 20 elementary schools. Data analysis is used to draw final conclusions on the results of the data, both from interviews, observations, and documents using interactive analysis techniques, namely data collection, data condensation, data display (data display) and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the thematic learning system had not been maximally implemented in schools; it is necessary to get used to implementing an android-based system which includes zoom for face-to-face online meetings, learning materials and evaluation of learning, so that teachers can explore the learning system used during the Covid-19 pandemic. In conclusion, the learning system in thematic learning during the Covid-19 pandemic still needs to be developed and explored because there are obstacles in the implementation of the learning process.

Mobile phones can be well integrated into English Instruction as the creativity and innovation of teaching media increase students’ interest and motivation. This research aims to reveal the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of utilizing Android-based Mobile Learning Media for teaching reading report texts. The present research employed the research and development design. The research instruments were questionnaires, tests, and learning media in Application Package Files (APK). The collected data were analyzed by employing descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with a t-test. This research’s subject was an experimental class and a control class in Senior High School of Muhammadiyah 2 of Purbalingga. The expert validation results were categorized into relevant and feasible learning media to teach report texts. The pre-test and post-test mean scores in the experimental class showed a highly significant difference because the class outperformed the control class. It means that Android-based MLM was effective for enhancing students’ reading comprehension of report texts. Meanwhile, the result of students’ perception obtained a good category. The data reveal that 70.4% of the students agreed to use Android-based MLM in the learning process. This research concludes that the final product meets the criteria of teaching media evaluation.
