A naturally occurring macromolecular material (sodium ligninsulfonate) is mixed with acrylic acid to perform grafting copolymerization and generate a sodium ligninsulfonate–acrylic acid graft copolymer. The chemical structure of the product is characterized based on infrared spectroscopy. Using viscosity and surface tension as indicators, the optimal ratio of wetting agents and coagulants is selected for auxiliary materials to prepare a novel hybrid dust suppressant customized for coal mines. The results indicate that, compared with spraying with water alone, this dust suppressant enhances the average anti‐weathering performance of coal samples by 28.34%, 30.13%, and 43.40% at wind speeds of 5–10, 11–15, and 16–20 m s−1, respectively. The hybrid dust suppressant can keep the weathering rate of dust to less than 40% at a wind speed of 19.3 m s−1 (i.e., Beaufort scale 8). High‐resolution scanning electron microscopy shows the dust suppressant has a good curing effect. Finally, coal quality analysis experiments show the dust suppressant does not reduce coal quality.

A large proportion of minable coal seams in China belong to low-permeability soft coal seams. Such coal seams suffer serious coal and gas outburst hazards and endure a high incidence of major disasters in coal mines. The adoption of the high-pressure water jet (HPWJ) hydraulic flushing cavity can effectively promote the gas drainage efficiency and volume and eliminate the hidden danger of gas disasters. Nevertheless, the shape and impact pressure of rotating HPWJ are rarely researched. In this study, on the basis of the numerical simulation, the axial and radial stress distributions of HPWJ and the energy-gathering effect of a conical-cylindrical combined nozzle were analyzed. It is concluded that the submerged condition will accelerate the attenuation of jet velocity and reduce the impact strength of the jet. The jet diffusion angle grows with the increases in the nozzle diameter and water pressure, and 24° is the optimal contraction angle. Finally, the influences of factors such as the rotation speed on the shape and impact pressure of HPWJ were explored, and the results show that the rotation speed should be controlled within 90 r/min. The research findings lay the foundation of the study on the mechanism of coal crushing by HPWJ and provide technical support for the research and development of drilling and flushing integrated equipment.

Dust pollution and heat damage hazards are important problems affecting underground safety production. This paper is aimed at exploring the optimal magnetization conditions of magnetized water for dust removal and temperature reduction, and improve the utilization rate of water. First, the surface tension, viscosity and specific heat capacity of water under different magnetization conditions were measured experimentally. Then, the magnetization conditions with the best coupling performances were obtained through ANSYS Fluent simulation. Finally, a spray system was designed to control the magnetization conditions strictly. The results demonstrate that the dust removal performance is better when the magnetic field intensity is 150 mT and the magnetization time is 80 s. Under this condition, the specific heat capacity also reaches the maximum. These research results can provide a theoretical basis for the selection of dust pollution and heat damage control measures in mines.
