The Design Of Water-Filled Rubber Dam As An Efficient Innovation In Preventing Tidal Flood (Rob)

Abstract: The river water that cannot flow into the sea because the tide comes through the estuary becomes the background of this research. The objectives of this research are, (1) evaluating flood and rob as the existing motion dam's benefit and preparing the closedcircuit water channels for experiments, (2) analyzing the characteristics of the water-filled rubber dam and making its prototype to obtain its material and to utilize it as the efficient technology, (3) conducting stability analysis of the flow in the dam, … Show more

“…The opening of the weir can be done automatically by deflating the rubber tube, while the expansion can only be done manually. Compared with fixed weirs and door motion weirs, rubber weirs have advantages as well as disadvantages [15].…”

“…According to Nicolls [17], the cause of the increasing occurrence of tidal floods in the world's coastal areas is caused by climate change and sea level rise, so the countermeasures that need to be carried out are in the form of policy implications for world climate change which is a world mitigation solution, namely by reducing the use of greenhouse gases, avoiding a human increase in land subsidence prone areas, controlling exposure growth by encouraging the expansion of coastal costs to avoid coastal locations. The efforts to control tidal floods that often occur can be overcome by making closed-circuit waterways with water-filled rubber weirs, that can be used as an appropriate technology and stabilize moving currents [18]. Furthermore, efforts to cope with flood events have developed towards the use of technology such as modeling approaches [19][20][21].…”
