The decay τ → K∗0(892)K−ντ in the extended NJL model

Abstract: In the extended Nambu -Jona-Lasinio model, the decay width of τ → K * 0 (892)K − ντ is calculated. The contributions from the contact diagram and diagrams with intermediate axial-vector, vector and pseudoscalar mesons in the ground and first radially excited states are taken into account. It is shown that axial-vector and vector channel with a contact diagram give a dominant contribution to the decay width. The obtained results for the decay width τ → K * 0 (892)K − ντ are in satisfactory agreement with experi… Show more

“…What we see in Table 8 is that this decay is dominated by the b 1 excitation and the a 1 strength accounts for only 13%. Thus, assuming even 50% contribution of the vector current relative to the a 1 contribution, as in [56], only changes in 6% our calculation of these rates, and hence, the good agreement found is not surprising.…”

“…The overwhelming dominance of the axial vector current in the V P production processes has been also corroborated in explicit calculations using the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model in [18,[21][22][23]54,55]. One exception was found in [56] in the study of the τ − → ν τ K * 0 K − . In this work the vector current was as big as 50% of the axial vector current which was driven explicitly by the a 1 excitation.…”
