The Data Evaluation of Interlaboratory Comparisons for Calibration Laboratories

Abstract: National accreditation agencies in different countries have set quite strict requirements for accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories. Interlaboratory comparisons (ILCs) are a form of experimental verification of laboratory activities to determine technical competence in a particular activity. Successful results of conducting ILCs for the laboratory are a confirmation of competence in carrying out certain types of measurements by a specific specialist on specific equipment. To obtain reliable res… Show more

“…Negative results indicate that the laboratory still does not meet its own deviation requirements and/or the resulting uncertainty is underestimated and requires revision. Since the ξ criterion is similar to the E n criterion, it is advisable to use E n for analysis, as required by [3] .…”

“…Interlaboratory comparison of measurement results (ILC) is an important part of the metrological activity, which provides an opportunity to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurements, to compare the results of different laboratories work, and to identify possible errors or deviations. The results of the laboratory's participation in the MPR should be evaluated using the statistical performance criteria of E n -criteria, z-criteria, ξ-criteria, which are given in DSTU EN ISO/IEC 17043 [1] , and are considered in more detail in DSTU ISO 13528 [2] , as well as recommendations on their application and visual display are given [3] .…”

“…Interlaboratory comparison (ILC) are one of the forms of experimental verification of the activity of laboratories, in particular calibration ones, with the aim of determining technical competence in a certain type of activity. The successful results of conducting ILC for the laboratory are a confirmation of competence in conducting certain types of measurements by a specific specialist on specific equipment [7][8][9]. In [10] presents the results of ILC calibration of the HS-45 electronic stopwatch manufactured by Citizen Watch Co., Ltd (Japan) at points from 30 s to 3600 s. The comparison of the results obtained during the calibration of the time meter by ten laboratories took place according to the radial scheme during 2016.…”
