“…Among these species, Ocean Turf Grass Halophila beccarii are distributed throughout the tropical Indo‐Pacific region and can be found in a range of habitat types from shallow estuarine environments (Jagtap, Komarpant, & Rodrigues, 2003) to deeper waters (Short et al., 2007). This species is considered a vulnerable species in South‐East Asia by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) (Short et al., 2011), and they have been reported from the intertidal areas of the Indian subcontinent and its archipelagos (Kannan et al., 1999; Mishra & Apte, 2020; Nair et al., 1983; Patro et al., 2017; Untawale & Jagtap, 1977) in addition to being recorded from Sri Lanka (Udagedara et al., 2017), Bangladesh (Abu Hena & Short, 2009), Malaysia (Fakhrulddin et al., 2013), Philippines (Liao & Geraldino, 2020), Thailand (Hiranphan et al., 2020) and Viet Nam (Hang Phan et al., 2017). However, documentation of the available information on this drastically declining small vulnerable species is important for developing conservation and management actions.…”
